Certified organic since 1992
The KEIKO Tea gardens in Kagoshima have been converted to organic cultivation back in 1992 and were the first in Japan to be awarded the EC seal of organic quality.
All KEIKO teas are cultivated in controlled organic plantations in compliance with EC regulation 834/2007, control board DE-ÖKO-013.
Analyses - KEIKO Teas free of pesticides and radioactivity
After the horrible earthquakes and the ensueing nuclear desaster in Fukushima March 2011 customers often ask us about a possible contamination of the teas. For this reason we sent samples from each harvest to an independent laboratory here in germany to test the KEIKO teas for radiation.
Thanks to the long distance between the KEIKO Biofarm in southern Kagoshima to the northern prefecture of Fukushima the analyses from the past years have proven the teas have not been subject to radioactive contamination.
